In Timmins for Christmas
So I just spent pretty much all day yesterday (Which also happened to be my birthday) sitting on a train on my way to Timmins. I was off to go and meet up with Laura-Lee who had headed there on Tuesday.
You may ask, “Why didn’t you drive?”. Well, the answer is because I didn’t want to
drive 12 hours there and back by myself in what could end up being some terrible winter
weather. I think it is pretty hard for a blizzard to mess with a train, so I firuged
that would be a safe way to go.
And these days, the train to Timmins is actually cheaper than taking the bus, so definitely
no complains there. The train is so comfortable compared to the bus. I took a seat
that was facing another set of seats, so I had lots of room to stretch my legs out.
The train even has power plugs, so I was able to plug my laptop on and use it as long
as I pleased. I’m definitely going to download a bunch of movies to my computer and
watch them on the way home.
I arrived in Timmins about two hours late. The Firlottes suprised me by waiting to
have supper until I arrived. They had made rouladin and spaetzle. A great birthday
dinner. Laura-Lee even made me a tasty cake. It was all very good. Finally, I was
given an unmarked golden box to open. (Golden wrapping paper, the box wasn’t made
out of gold). I opened it and found a nice pair of extra comfy PJs (which I am wearing
now). I’m pretty sure that there was a little elf (Laura-Lee) that suggested them
for me.
I think that today will be a day of shopping and relaxing. Then we’re off to experience
the Firlotte christmas. I am looking forward to the experience.
